It is becoming more popular for people to send a "save the date card"
before sending the main wedding invitation. These are particularly
useful if you are getting married at a time when people might be
expected to have other commitments such as Christmas and summer holidays.
These cards can be sent as soon as a wedding date has been finalised
(most usually when the wedding venue has been booked).
It maybe that you would like to follow your save the date theme through to your main wedding stationery, this is possible and samples can be provided.

Questions and Answers
Do I really need to send a save the date card or will my invitation and word of mouth be enough?
We recommend sending save the date cards for weddings that
occur during the summer or near holidays. We also recommend sending
them if you have guests that will need to travel from out of town. We
live in a world where schedules are hectic and travel is expensive. Holidays are typically booked months in advance and it is thoughtful to
give your friends and family as much time as possible to plan for your
wedding.
When should I mail my save the date cards?
Most save the date cards are mailed 6 months to 1 year ahead
of time. We also have some couples that send them out 1 - 2 years ahead
of time if their wedding falls on a busy day such as New Year's.
Who do I send save the date cards to?
Save-the-Date cards should be mailed to everyone on your
wedding guest list. Of course, households with more than 1 guest will
only need one save the date. You should also plan to order extra save
the date cards because it is extremely likely that you will add guests
during the planning process so it is always nice to have "extras"
available.
